(The graphic designer working with me asked for this herself.)

A "social media" project divided in components and a filter to create some kind of queue are very nice tips, thank you!

I don't think I have any specific question, but if you happen to know something about flexibily planning co-workers time sheets that you can share, I'll be grateful. (I currently use the tempo plugin suite for this. But I haven't quite managed to make it perfect.)

Re: Yes, We Use Jira for Everything

I think there are ways to establish priority, and you can set different priorities for different "projects". So you would be able to assign something as P1 or something else as P2.

You can also set different flows for how tasks are closed (this is on the back end of Jira). A project can go through a number of iterations from "In review with customer" to "Ready to publish"

Re: Yes, We Use Jira for Everything

Oh wow. Didn't even see his comments!

- And what exactly do you mean by "queue"? Is that some kind of default JIRA element?

You can create a filter of items that is more effectively assembled as a queue--a list of projects that need to be completed.

-- My understanding from your post is that in your case you have one JIRA "Project" called Marketing, and this project is then sub-divided in "Components", that each represent one project; is that correct? Could you explain a little bit better how is this managed in your organization?

Yes one project. I choose to use components to manage my items, but others just manage based on assignments. Right now we have a component called "social media" and all requests for social media promotion can go in that queue!

Re: Yes, We Use Jira for Everything

Thanks for the response Francesca, I didn't mean to rag on you for not responding. Could you elaborate a little bit more on the configuration scheme your project manager set up in JIRA to achieve that? And what exactly do you mean by "queue"? Is that some kind of default JIRA element? Because I'm not finding anything that goes by that name in JIRA.

We work on all kind of projects (ranging from more 'classical' communication design - flyers, outdoors, branding operations, etc... - to semi-complex web development - custom websites, e-shops, product configurators, etc), and I would like to maintain the segmentation by Project (each JIRA Project corresponds to a specific work for a specific client).
My understanding from your post is that in your case you have one JIRA "Project" called Marketing, and this project is then sub-divided in "Components", that each represent one project; is that correct? Could you explain a little bit better how is this managed in your organization?

My main issue with JIRA is I can't find a way to easily manage priorities between different "Projects", i.e. Designer X is working on Project A, but then comes Project B (which as a highest priority for my organization than Project A); how can I define (inside JIRA) that Designer X needs to stop working in Project A while Project B is not complete, or marked as "In Review by the Client"?

Thank you so much for your post, I always find it extremely helpful to better understand how other people/organizations mange their workflows, with or without JIRA, and your post was great for that.

Re: Recap of Community Leadership Summit 13

Host it the following weekend so I can come down from Boston! :)

Re: Recap of Community Leadership Summit 13

I hosted a Community Manager UNconference in NYC back in February.
